THE GOYT LOSE AT TAFFS WELL
Goytre United lost their first game of the season on
Saturday, against a spirited eager Taffs Well team. Again going into the
game with several key players missing, this was always going to be a
test against young opposition. It all started to go wrong after ten mins
when Ian Morgan was sent off for deliberate hand ball. We fell further
behind not long after when a mix up in the Goyt defence enabled Taffs
Well to extend their lead. We tried hard to pull back some ground in the
second half, pushing men forward, but it Taffs Well who always looked
dangerous on the break. Credit to Taffs Well who fully deserved their
win on the day. The Goyt will be keen to put this defeat behind them
when Barry Town visit Glenhafod Park Stadium on Wednesday night.
DATE FIXED FOR SEMI FINAL
Goytre United will play Afan Lido in the Nathaniel
Car Sales Welsh League Cup Semi Final on Thursday March 18th at Maesteg
